Inua NextGen CBO is hosting a Pad Drive in Nyamira County on Thursday, 11 June 2026. This one-day campaign pairs menstrual hygiene support with mental health awareness for local learners. Our belief is simple. No young person should miss school for lack of a sanitary pad. Likewise, no learner should suffer in silence without someone to talk to.

The initiative aims to reach 200 students. On the day, we will visit two schools: Karantini Comprehensive School and Kenyamware Comprehensive School. First, we will give sanitary towels to girls. As a result, more girls can stay in class with dignity. Meanwhile, both girls and boys will join mental health and psychosocial sessions. In addition, these sessions offer practical tools and a safe space to be heard.
Why This Pad Drive in Nyamira County Matters
Period poverty keeps thousands of Kenyan girls out of school every month. Meanwhile, the emotional pressures that young people carry often stay hidden. So this campaign tackles both barriers at once. First, it protects dignity through menstrual hygiene support. Second, it builds resilience through mental well-being. Together, these two pillars give every child a strong foundation to thrive. For more context, see UNICEF’s work on menstrual hygiene and education.
How You Can Support
Right now, we are mobilising donations across the community. For example, we welcome sanitary towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tissues, and soap. We also accept other basic hygiene items. As a result, no student misses out. Partners, well-wishers, and schools can help in three simple ways:
- First, donate sanitary towels, hygiene items, or funds toward dignity kits.
- Second, partner with us as a sponsor, volunteer, or psychosocial-support facilitator.
- Finally, share this campaign across Nyamira County and beyond.
You can drop off donations at [drop-off location]. Alternatively, our team can arrange collection for you. So please get in touch with Inua NextGen CBO to partner, donate, or volunteer. You can also learn more about our mission.
Together, we can promote health, dignity, and hope for young people in our community.
